Walter Corn

Walter Blaine Corn, 77, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born March 14, 1938, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late James Herman and Nell Reeves Corn and husband of the late Patricia Davis Corn. A National Guard veteran, Mr. Corn was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, whom enjoyed good food and fishing, but his passion was golf. He played every chance he could with his buddies at Links O'Tryon. Survivors include his sons, Michael Blaine Corn and wife Jami; granddaughter, Amelia Blaine Corn of Spartanburg; Stephen Paul Corn and wife Shanna of Landrum; and brother, James Dixon Corn of Spartanburg. He was also predeceased by a sister, Launa Corn Fallaw. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Pastor Scott Linnerud. Following the Graveside service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Links O'Tryon, Landrum, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
