Walter Ballenger Jr.

Walter Joseph "Joe" Ballenger Jr., 68, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at his home. Born October 6, 1949, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Walter Joseph Ballenger Sr. and Marjorie Jean Cash Ballenger. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Ballenger enjoyed playing guitar and working with computers. He received a Bachelor's Degree, with a major in psychology, from the University of South Carolina. Survivors include his wife, Patricia McCraw Ballenger; sons, Shawn Ballenger of Stone Mountain, GA and Walter Ballenger III (Joann) of Woodruff, SC; and grandchildren, Natalie Smith, Bailey Ballenger, Tori Ballanger, and Holden Ballenger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Josylin Ballenger; and brother, David Ballenger. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by The Rev. Andy Case. Visitation will follow at the graveside. The family is at their respective homes.
