Vivian L. Christmas

Spartanburg, SC - Vivian L. Christmas, a loving homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family, passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born on February 10, 1927, in Spartanburg to James Clifford Dean and Lillian Dunaway Dean.  She was married for more than 60 years to Ernest Christmas, who preceded her in death in 2008.
Vivian was an extraordinary woman who embodied the true meaning of selflessness and devotion. She found immense joy in being a homemaker and took pride in providing care and support to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Vivian – she cherished spending time with them, and creating beautiful memories filled with laughter.  Vivian was most thankful for her salvation through her Savior, Jesus Christ.  She met Jesus on August 9, 1953, and from that day forward, her life was forever changed.
One of Vivian's proudest accomplishments came later in life when she obtained her Concealed Weapons Permit at the remarkable age of 80. Determined and fearless, she proved that strength knows no age limit.  Vivian loved to go camping with her family and many memories were made during those camping trips together.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her daughter Nan C. Prosser. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Vivian is survived by her children: Ernestine C. Foster (Frank) of Campobello, Ann C. Payne (Paul) of Boiling Springs, and Robert L. Christmas (Joyce) of Boiling Springs. Her memory will also be cherished by nine grandchildren: Lisa Greer (David), Angela Myers (Daniel), Emmett Tisdale (Heather), Eric Tisdale (Lynn), Ken Smith, Paul J. Payne, Kerise Ballard, Mickey Taylor (Sunshine), Tammy Stewart (David). Additionally, she leaves behind nineteen great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16th from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC, 29307. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Vivian will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel immediately following the funeral service.
Vivian L. Christmas touched countless lives through her unwavering love and commitment to her family. She will be remembered for her boundless kindness, her strong spirit, and the lasting impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, 101 N. Pine Street, Suite 215, Spartanburg, SC, 29302 in honor of Vivian's memory.  The family would like to recognize the staff at Wesley Court and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care Vivian received.  Dr. Steven Corso and Dr. Robert Strehlow were also generous in their care of Vivian.
May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love will continue to thrive in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
