Virginia Thomas

Virginia Phillips Thomas, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at White Oak Estates. Born October 8, 1922, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Harley Wayne Phillips, Sr. and Lillie Malone Glazener Phillips and widow of Shea West Thomas Sr. Mrs. Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and a volunteer for over 40 years with Spartanburg Medical Center. Survivors include her daughter, Martha T. Trammell (Frank) of Weddington, NC; grandchildren, Shea West Thomas III, Franklin Hagood Trammell III (Sara), and Andrew Thomas Trammell (Katie); and great-grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Trammell, Andrew Patrick Trammell, Eliana Rae Trammell and Shea West Thomas, IV. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Shea West Thomas Jr.; brother, Harley Wayne Phillips, Jr.; and sister, Helen M. Phillips. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
