Virginia Rice

Virginia Rice, 84, formerly of Saratoga Avenue, Spartanburg, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Oakmont West Nursing Center-Greenville. Born April 18, 1927, in Wilmington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Millicent Louise Ross, and wife of Andrew Jackson Rice Jr. who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and of the Baptist faith. Surviving is her brother, Mack Ledford of Gastonia, NC; son, Bobby Rice and wife Dotty of Rutherfordton, NC; daughter, Judy LaPointe of Greenville, SC; and son, Darrell Rice and wife Lyn of Little River, SC; grandchildren, Wendy, David, Mike, and Amy; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev.
