Virginia Hughes

Virginia Lussardi Hughes, 87, of Spartanburg, formerly of Boiling Springs, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at White Oak Estates. Born June 30, 1923 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Myrtle Aycock Lussardi and wife of the late Brent H. Hughes. She was a graduate of Winthrop College. Survivors include a son, Richard L. (Nancy) Hughes of Eldersburg, MD and a brother, Hugh C. Lussardi of Brownstown, MI. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 7, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Smith. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the J. Edgar Hoover Scholarship Fund, Spartanburg Methodist College, 1000 Powell Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
