Virginia Harmon

Virginia Harmon, 92, of Pacolet Mills, SC, died Monday, May 29, 2017. Born January 17, 1925, in Goucher, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Harrison Henderson and Jane Gibbs Henderson and widow of William Earl Harmon. Mrs. Harmon was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church and the Annette Greene Sunday School Class. She retired from Spartanburg County Health Department and was active in Eastern Star and Scouting. She was also an avid fisherman and member of the Old Timers Senior Bowling League. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Garner (Rick) of Pacolet, SC; son, Rodney Harmon of Prosperity, SC; grandchildren, Taylor Garner and Lee Garner, both of Pacolet, SC; great-grandchildren, Emalee Garner of Pacolet, SC, Thomas Garner and Kenny Garner, both of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Rose H. Bridges of Spartanburg, SC; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Ocie Mathis, Irene Miller, Pearl McIntyre, and Nellie Horne; and brothers, Horace Henderson, Fletcher Henderson, Ray Henderson, and Gene Henderson. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Matthew Roland and the Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to do a random act of kindness in honor of our mother.
