Virginia Davison

Virginia Beach Davison, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Eden Terrace. Born May 25, 1929, in Spartanburg, she was the only child of the late Jesse French Scruggs and Louise Lowe Scruggs. Virginia was educated in the Spartanburg City Schools. She attended Columbia College before transferring to Converse College. Virginia was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the John Nicholson Sunday School Class and an accomplished musician who was a member of the choir for over 50 years. She was first married to the late Orin Watt Beach, Sr. for 61 years. She then married the late Meredith V. Davison. Surviving are two sons, Orin Watt Beach, Jr. (Beth) and Mylnor Scruggs Beach (Kathy) of Boiling Springs, SC; three granddaughters, Betsy of Atlanta, GA, Tonya and Amanda of Boiling Springs, SC. The family will receive friends 10:25-10:55 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the cryptside of Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A cryptside service will follow at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Reverend Neal Y. Woods, Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
