Violet Green

Violet Vistula Willard Green "Blackie", 94, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 14, 1923, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Emma Lee Harvey Willard and widow of Boyd C. Green. Mrs. Green loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them on Sundays and holidays to help keep them close. She also loved music, to play piano, and to dance. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church and retired from Prym Dritz Corporation. Surviving are her sons, Michael E. Green (Sharon) and Kenneth W. Green, all of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Vicky D. Green of Boiling Springs, SC and Teresa K. Green of Woodruff, SC; daughter-in-law, Joyce Green of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Annette, Duane, Jill, Heather, Travis, Cindy, Eric, Cameron, and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Clayton, Saralane, Andrew, Hunter, Hance, Sims, Will, Emma, Ellis Kate, Drew, and Anna. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Edward Green. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Rupert Guest. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or a charity of one's choice. The family is at the home.
