Viola Kimbrell

Viola Elder Kimbrell, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Terra Bella of Spartanburg. Born September 22, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Toy McLeeland Elder, Sr. and Leona Fowler Elder and was the wife of the late Winfred Heyward Kimbrell of 59 years.

Viola was retired from ACT III (a division of Butte Knit) and Calvin Klein. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Barry Kimbrell (Mindy) and Jerry Kimbrell (Marcella), all of Spartanburg, SC; her grandchildren, Ian Kimbrell (Kailey) and Morgan Kimbrell; her step-grandchildren, Nikki Compton and Neely Mascara (Cam); and her step-great-grandchildren, Parker Compton and Gino Mascara; along with her siblings, Evelyn Elder DePrete of Pawleys Island, SC, Toy Elder, Jr. of Boiling Springs, SC, Donald Elder of Pauline, SC, Kenneth Elder of Spartanburg, SC, James Elder of Pauline, SC, Larry Elder of Charlotte, NC and Harold Elder of Wellford, SC.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Edward Elder and Charles Elder.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 – 1:45 am Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
