William Vincent McLean, 77, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home. Born August 20, 1944 in Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late William Coyt and Helen Story McLean.
Mr. McLean was retired as Safety Director from 2 Berry Transportation. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Reigning Association. After retirement, he enjoyed raising and showing Reigning horses and was very proud of his 2012 AQHA Honor Roll High Point Reigning Horse. Vince was voted most athletic in high school and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved cooking for his family and laughing with his grandchildren. He loved to laugh and to others lent his merriment.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Talbert McLean, daughters, Courtney McLean Hoskyns (Louis) and Piper McLean Holmes (Michael), all of Spartanburg, SC, his grandchildren, Hannah Guy Smith and Laney Carroll Smith, of Charlotte, NC, Caroline Harris Smith, McLean Elizabeth Holmes, William Michael Holmes, and Vincent Griggs Holmes, all of Spartanburg, SC, his sister, Vernice McLean Steele (C.E.) of Columbia, SC and his brother, Charles David McLean (Jean) of Chesterfield, SC.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Private service will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Backpack Buddy Program, c/o St. John Lutheran Church, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
