Vicky Lewis

Vicky Emery Lewis, 50, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at her home. Born January 24, 1961, in Turkey, she was the daughter of Leo and Marie Matiskiel of Toms River, NJ. Vicky was an avid gardener, crocheter, quilter, fantastic cook, lover of all animals, and especially loved hummingbirds, always put everyone else first, a devoted mother and best friend to her son and daughter. She was a manager with Denny's and Friendly's restaurants. She was a graduate of Toms River High School North, NJ, attended Ocean County College, and was of Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband and children, Richard Wayne Lewis, Michael Anthony Emery, and Megan Marie Lee Lewis, all of the home; stepdaughter, Amanda King and husband Shawn of Crestview, FL; sisters, Annette Matiskiel and Sandy Kumitis and husband Bobby, all of Toms River, NJ; a brother, Joe Matiskiel and wife Gail of Forked River, NJ; a niece and nephew, Michelle and Joe Matiskiel; three step-granddaughters, Jazmyne, Bryanna, and Ashlyn King; and her best friend, Maryanne Manco of Toms River, NJ. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Emery. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
