Vicki Lanier

Victoria K. Lanier, 86, of Spartanburg, SC passed peacefully Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March 12, 1935 in Gaffney, SC she was the daughter of the late Elbert Boone and Clara Turner Kirby and the widow of Jodean Lanier.

Vicki was retired from Bell South after 35 years of service. She was a member of Church at the Mill. She was devoted to her Lord and family. A selfless, kind, cheerful volunteer for The Pioneers, a great southern cook, had a beautiful flower and vegetable garden.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Lanier Hawkins (Jeff) of Spartanburg, SC, grandsons, Blake Lanier Hawkins of Spartanburg, SC and Brooks Walker Hawkins of Charleston, SC, along with a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Walker Kirby, Boone Kirby, and Robert Kirby, and her sister, Ruth Scruggs.

Visitation will be 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Church at the Mill Chapel, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Dr. D. J. Horton and The Rev. Gene Pace. The Odell Kerns Sunday School class will serve as honorary escort. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church at the Mill, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369.
