Vera Arthur

Vera Mae Strickland Arthur, 71, of Roebuck, SC died Friday, December 11, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born December 6, 1949 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Garvin and Sarah Strickland. A graduate of Dorman High School, Vicki was retired from Southern Bell where she worked for 36 years and was a member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church. Vicki enjoyed beach music, shagging, going to the beach, spending time with her friends, family, and helping out her daughter and two grandsons in any way that she could. She was always a doting Mimi to her grandsons. Survivors include her daughter Missy Willard, her son-in-law Billy Willard, her grandsons Zane Willard and Creed Willard of Roebuck, SC, sister Diane Deaton, brother-in-law Norman Deaton, sister Kathy Pettit, nephew Robbie Deaton, nieces Brook Quinn, Amanda Bettencourt, Merideth Kemp, she was also predeceased by her sister Linda Finley. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the COVID unit at Spartanburg Medical Center for all that they do. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Pastor Manning Strickland.
