Valerie Edwards Littlejohn, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully departed this life on December 3, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on March 16, 1927, in Sydney, Australia, to the late Harry and Eva Edwards. 

Valerie dedicated over 25 years to a career with the Spartanburg Treasurer's office, a commitment and service to her community. Her passion for helping others continued as she volunteered for Mobile Meals, providing nourishment and companionship to those in need.

A woman of remarkable wit, Valerie was also a world traveler who embraced the thrill of adventure. She was an avid gardener with beautiful flowers filling her yard, a member of both the garden club and the bridge club as her favorite pastimes. Even into her late years, Valerie maintained an active lifestyle, walking two miles a day until the age of 88.

Valerie is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Burnett (Bill) of Pacolet and Vicky Page (Jim) of Duncan and daughter-in-law, Susan Littlejohn (wife of son, Jay Littleton) of Columbia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Shannon Stancil (Micah) of Spartanburg, Valerie "Christie" Burnett (Jamie) of Pacolet, Dylan Burnett (Sarah) of Spartanburg, and Ashley Page. Additionally, she cherished her great-grandchildren, Hillary Roper (Jacob), Caleb Huskey, Mack Stancil, Raegan Lambert, Gavin Stancil, and Rylee Burnett, along with her great-great-grandchild, Griffin Roper. A special note of gratitude goes to her caregiver, Margaret Birago, for the exceptional care she provided.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Victor Boyd Littlejohn, her son, Jay Littlejohn, and her siblings, Shirley Boddice and Brian Edwards. 

The family will receive friends at 11:30 AM and following graveside service on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 PM, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29307 with the Rev. Sal Barone officiating.
