Tywauna Shelton

Tywauna “Nannie” Byers Shelton, 64, of Inman, SC, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Born August 2, 1958 in Vernon, TX, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Byers, Sr. and Fredna Merlene Barnes Byers and wife of the late Emory Dale Shelton.

Nannie owned an in-home daycare for several years. Nannie was a very loving “Nannie” to everyone. She treated everyone like they were her children. She was never wrong.

Survivors include her daughters, Marlene Michelle Byers of Boiling Springs, SC and Emory Dale Shelton of Inman, SC; granddaughters, Olivia Merlene Shelton (Brandon) and Rosalyn Merlene Lewis, all of Highlands, TX; her sisters, Tammy Blizzard of Boiling Springs, SC and Diane Bridges of Inman, SC; brothers, Thomas Byers, Jr. of Inman, SC, Thomas Shawn Byers of Mayport, FL, and William Byers of Boiling Springs, SC; and her fur-baby, Dakota Rose. She was also predeceased by a brother, Michael Shawn Byers.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2022 at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Kenneth Cash. Burial will follow in Byars Baptist Church Cemetery, 1367 SR (Byars Church Lane), Mill Spring, NC 28756.
