Troy Ledford

Troy Lawson Ledford, 90, of 640 Archer Road, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at his home. Born July 17, 1919, in Glendale, SC, he was the son of the late William and Eleanor Black Ledford and the husband of the late Virginia Stacey Ledford. He was retired from the South Carolina Highway Department, a charter member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Usher, and Brotherhood President; a member of the American Legion; and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. Survivors include three daughters, Maxine Bayne and her husband Steve of Inman, Ellen Splawn and her husband Ernest of Spartanburg, and Geraldine Ballard of Spartanburg; four sisters, Anna Laura Jenkins and Gladys Brooks, both of Delrio, TN, Hattie Bailey of Newport, TN, and Jenna Mae Metcalf of Virginia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Bobby Ballard; two brothers, James R. Ledford and George Duncan Ledford; and two sisters, Lila Lindsey and Bessie Caskin. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at Davis Memorial Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Charles Hall. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
