Travis O'Neil Rhymer, 50, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in Spartanburg, SC. He was born on January 7, 1973, in Spartanburg, SC to Morris Otis Rhymer and Levaine Turner Rhymer.
Travis was a 1993 graduate of The Charles Lea Center. His participation in the Special Olympics for many years brought him numerous medals and awards, highlighting his determination and strength. Travis found happiness through gospel music, often singing with enthusiasm.
Known for his vibrant personality and the ability to befriend anyone he met; Travis was genuinely loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered as an avid Carolina football fan and a loyal supporter of the Boiling Springs Bulldogs.
With a smile that could brighten even the darkest rooms. His genuine compassion and kindness made it impossible for him to walk through life without making deep connections with others. Travis Rhymer's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Travis is survived by his mother, Levaine Turner Rhymer of Boiling Springs, and his father, Morris O. Rhymer of Greer, his brothers, Rick Rhymer of Boiling Springs, Roger Rhymer of Duncan, and Steven Rhymer and his wife, Shannon of Greer. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Travis in death are his maternal grandparents, Claude & Lillian Turner and paternal grandparents, Morris & Christine Rhymer.
A visitation will take place on September 8, 2023, starting at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 E Main St in Spartanburg, SC 29307
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on September 9, 2023, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Immediately following the service, entombment will be held in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. Services will be conducted by The Rev. Michael Bradley and The Rev. Brian Harris.

Travis O'Neil Rhymer touched the lives of many through his warmth and exuberance. May his spirit continue to inspire us to live with compassion, love unconditionally, and embrace every moment with joy.
