Torance Ray

Torance Stevenson Ray, 69, of 2910 East Main Street Extension, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 9, 1940, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie Jack and Flossie Waters Ray and husband of the late Sarah Ellen Linder Ray. He was a painter and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sisters, Judy Poole and Bertie Malone, both of Cowpens; a brother, Harold Ray of Cowpens; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Grady Ray; and a sister, Doris Rhinehart. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, in Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Eddie Huggins and the Rev. Brent Powell.
