T. Mitchell "Mitch" Shook

T. Mitchell “Mitch” Shook, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, at home. Born in Spartanburg, SC, on October 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Luther Franklin and Mildred Kate Landers Shook.

Mitch earned his degree at the University of South Carolina - Spartanburg and retired from IAC, Inc. after many years as production manager. He was a member of Drayton Fire Department for 55 years and a member of Roebuck Masonic Lodge #357 for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Alyce Crain Shook of the home; their daughter, Lacy Shook White (James F.) of Spartanburg, SC; their son, Luther Franklin Shook II (Jan Wilkerson Shook) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Claire White, Wyatt Shook, and Trey Shook; his sister, Brenda Shook Tisdale (Norris) of Greenwood, SC; four nieces and nephews; and his beloved labs, Sadie and Lucy. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joel Shook and Joan Shook Gordon.

Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis and the Rev. Fred Quidley. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
