Tillman Tolleson

Tillman Huskey Tolleson, 68, of Cowpens, formerly of Roebuck, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born June 27, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late James J. and Clara Devinnie Evans Tolleson. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Elaine Martin and her husband Jesse of Salisbury, NC; a brother, Billy Jones Tolleson of Bossier City, LA; four sisters, Barbara Carol Petty, Sylvia Annette Sanders, Elizabeth Diana Gwinn, and Sarah Joan McAbee, all of Roebuck; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Acosta; a son, Tillman H. Tolleson, Jr.; and a brother, Henry Eugene Tolleson. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Una First Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash, the Rev. Leonard O. Brown, and Mr. Bobby Rhymer. Burial will be in Roebuck Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tillman H. Tolleson Memorial Fund, P. O. Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
