Thomas Carrol Tinsley, 82, of Spartanburg, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 7, 1930, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Sue Emma Souther Tinsley. He was retired from Mayfair Mills after 39 years of service, a member of Fairforest Baptist Church, a member of Jackson Mill Masonic Lodge #383, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a Shriner. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Josephine Kimmons Tinsley; a son, Michael Douglas Tinsley (Lynne) of Boiling Springs, SC; a sister, Frankie Sue Ravan (Gene) of Marietta, GA; a brother, Robert "Bob" Tinsley (Elsie) of Lyman, SC; granddaughters, Melissa Tinsley Marlowe (Caleb) of Cooley Springs, SC and Lacey Tinsley of Boiling Springs, SC; great-granddaughter, Tinsley Rebekah Marlowe of Cooley Springs; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, May 7, 2012, at Fairforest Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey, Mr. Joe Weathers, and Mr. John Owens. Entombment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.
