Thomas Swink

Thomas Steven Swink, 65, of Greer, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1955 in Boiling Springs, NC, a son to the late Von and Inez Hoyle Swink. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, and retired after 23 years of service as a welder with Duke Power. After retirement, Thomas was the owner of Swink Metalworks of Greer. A very hard worker who was an extremely skilled and sought after welder, he was an honest, straightforward man who was dedicated to his family. Thomas was also a great fisherman who won numerous tournaments in his younger years. Thomas is survived by his wife of 19 years, Janie McBride Swink; his sons, Steven Swink (Mandy) of Roebuck and Kyle Colquitt (Heather) of Starr, SC; six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cody, Cole, Hannah, Kyron and Peyton; his brothers, Russell Swink (Linda) of Ohio and Ronnie Swink of Mountville, SC; a nephew, Corey Swink,; and a niece, Sandra Swink. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Swink. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Clover Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1225 Oak Grove Clover Hill Road, Lawndale, NC 28090, conducted by Mr. Steven Swink.
