Thomas Lamon Skelton, 83, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 17, 1929, in Habersham County, GA, he was the husband of the late Betty J. Skelton and son of the late Thomas Lamon Skelton Sr. and Mary Lee Wood Skelton. Mr. Skelton was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, and retired from Community Cash Stores. Surviving are his daughter, Shelia James and husband Berry of Pauline, SC; sons, Eric Skelton and wife Alice of Woodruff, SC, and Eugene Hinson and partner Mick of San Antonio, TX; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Lee Skelton and wife Betty of Cornelia, GA; and special companion, Doris Bennett of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, William Everett Skelton. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Bradley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
