Thomas Nix, Jr.

Thomas "Tom" Henry Nix Jr., 80, of Spartanburg, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 22, 1932, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Henry Nix Sr. and Minnie Fowler Nix. Mr. Nix was the owner and operator of Nix Transfer & Moving. He was also a member of Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Elsie Mae Nix; son, Thomas "Butch" Nix III of Lake Odessa, MI; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Kay Nix. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Childers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
