Thomas Gayle Myers, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, May 19, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born January 27, 1939 in Dillon, SC, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Emma Myers. Mr. Myers was a 1961 graduate of Wofford College, and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a former member of the Army National Guard. During his lifetime, he worked for Belk Hudson Co. for 27 years, where he retired, then was the owner of Ellis Clothes of Distinction from 1984 - 1997, and also worked for Herald Office Supplies in Dillon, SC. Gayle was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member of the Rotary Club, former Director of Sunday School classes at First Presbyterian Church and a Deacon. Along with the positions he held, he was also a member of Men's Bible Study Group and a Mobile Meals volunteer. One of his greatest honors was to be the first retailer to feature "Made In America" Milliken's National Campaign. Survivors include his loving wife, Freda Mills Myers; son, Michael T. Myers of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Jennifer Myers of Spartanburg, SC; Lisa Collins (Steve) of Spartanburg, SC; Tami Lawson of Pauline, SC; Teri Bruce of Campobello, SC; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Carleene Myers Jordan (Arthur Buisc) of Dillon, SC; niece, Darlene Martin (Don) of Greenville, SC; nephews, Art Jordan (Elizabeth); Thomas Jordan (Ellen); and Cooper Jordan (Angelia) all of Dillon, SC; and brother in law, Randolph Hayes of Anderson, SC. Visitation will be 2:00 - 2:45 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 309 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dale Rawlings. Burial will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Dillon, SC, under the direction of Kannady's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O.
