Thomas Edward Moore, 73, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023. Born May 3, 1950, he was a son of the late Sanford Orville and Dorothy Gladys Sears Moore and grandson of the late William Clarence and Gladys Narrow Sears and Claude and Lilly Mae Brown Moore.
Mr. Moore was a 1968 graduate of Dorman High School, an Eagle Scout, a former assistant scoutmaster, and a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. He taught Nuclear Medicine at Duke University and published papers for the New England Journal of Medicine. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness.
Survivors are his wife, Cynthia Hayes Moore; sons, Thomas Moore-Pizon, Jr., Anthony Duane Moore; daughter, Angela Stiles; grandchildren, Matthew Alkula, Brett Stiles, Bella Moore and Alexander Moore; brothers, John Clarence Moore, Dennis Moore and Kenneth Moore; step grandchildren, Rachael St. Pierre and Johnathan St. Pierre; sisters, Lois Bishop, Betty Barrett and Mary Helms. Mr. Moore was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Bishop.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Shiloh Memorial Cemetery, 4040 New Cut Road, Inman, SC 29349, conducted by the Rev. Roger Allison. A family gathering after the service will be held at 161 Brown Arrow Circle, Inman, SC 29349.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jehovah’s Witness, 900 Red Mills Road, Wallkill, NY 12589-3223.
