Thomas Lyles Mason, 88, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at White Oak Manor in Newberry. Born September 4, 1922 in Arcadia, he was the son of the late John Bailus and Etta Gosnell Mason. He was an engineer with Southern Railroad, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theatre. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lelleree Johnson Mason; two sons, Kenneth Lyles Mason and wife Kathy and Thomas Dale Mason and wife Anita; a brother, Robert Glenn Mason; a sister, Dorothy Mason Wilson; and five grandchildren, Clayton Lyles Mason, Samuel Chase Mason, Alexander Gutierrez Mason, Madeline Elise Mason, and James Grant Revan. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Scott Linnerud. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
