Thomas Adam Long, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born December 9, 1938 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late David Monroe and Virginia Estelle Fowler Long.
A US National Guard veteran, Mr. Long was a God-fearing man who was a member of Full Salvation Church of the Living God.
Thomas was always conscious of anyone in need. He welcomed anyone to his home. The neighborhood children loved him and loved to play in his yard.
An avid outdoorsman, Thomas had a lot of hunting and fishing friends. He truly believed in hard work and education.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Lorene Suttles Long of the home; sons, William Avery Long and Carl Adam Long (Heather), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Nathaniel Adam Long and Haleigh Elizabeth Long of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Millie Richardson of Georgia, Carroll Myers of North Carolina, and Annie Mae Lee of Pacolet, SC; brothers, Jonas Paul Long of Whitestone, SC and Kenneth Wayne Long of Pacolet, SC; along with numerous nieces and nephews, with multiple generations of a loving family. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gilman M. Long.
A Graveside service will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Ricky Pridmore, Jr. Visitation to follow service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fruitful Hill Ministries, 7210 South Pine Street, Pacolet, SC 29372.
