Thomas Gaulden

Thomas W. Gaulden, 86, of 207 North Pinelake Drive, Spartanburg, passed away May 9, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 27, 1924, he was the son of the late William Hall and Sarah Parrish Gaulden of Rock Hill, SC. He was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran of the China-Burma-India theatre, a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and a Shriner. He was retired from Duke Energy after 35 years of service. Mr. Gaulden is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Sara Gardner Gaulden; three daughters, Linda Peterson (Whit) of Pawleys Island, SC, Darlene Sovich (Larry) of Spartanburg, and Susan Collins (Steve) of Woodruff, SC; six grandchildren, Bryan Sovich of Lothian MD, Jonathan Sovich (Stephanie) of Lothian MD, Kristi Arnold (Scott) of Winston-Salem NC, Tom Peterson (Stacy) of Lexington NC, Brandon Collins (Allison) of Woodruff SC, and Blake Collins (Emily) of Woodruff SC; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anne Vickery and Mary Curtis of Rock Hill SC. He was predeceased by his brother, Willard Gaulden, and sister, Edith Whitesides, both of Rock Hill, SC. Visitation services will be 2:30-3:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Will Malambri. Interment with military rites will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 680 Nazareth Church Road, Moore SC.
