Thomas Harry Dismukes, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 21, 1923, in Gadsden AL, he was the son of the late John William and Minnie Lee Stealman Dismukes and widower of Mildred Hudson Dismukes. Mr. Dismukes was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Air Force stationed in Italy. He was retired from Southern Railway, a scout master for Boy Scout Troop 135, a former chief of Metro Fire Department and a member of United Baptist Church. Survivors include his two sons, Harry Keith Dismukes (Lucille) and George Robert Dismukes (Vida); 8 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by six sisters and three brothers and was the last surviving member of his family. Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 2:00 PM in the Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Emory. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of Chris and Leslie Leso, 265 Fairway Dr., Peach Valley Subdivision, Spartanburg, SC.
