Thomas "Tom" Joseph Burress, 65, of Boiling Springs, died Friday, August 15, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 24, 1948, in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Joseph O. Burress and Willie Ruth Gallager Burress. Mr. Burress a graduate of Gardner Webb College, served in the United States Army, was a former owner of Spartan Imports, and minister of music for 40 years at various churches in Spartanburg County. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Boiling Springs. Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Garrett Burress; children, Cindy Tucker (Matt) of Somerset, KY, Laurie Neff (Chris) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Kylee Grace Tucker and Connor Neff and sister, Phyllis Sawyer of Nashville, TN. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and Dr. Robert Jackson. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
