Thomas Arrington

Thomas "Tommy" William Arrington, 64, of Inman, SC, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 30, 1950, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Marjorie Elm Arrington of Spartanburg, SC and the late Thomas William Arrington Sr. A U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Arrington served as a Crypt Analyst. He was a graduate of Limestone College and received his MA Degree from North Carolina State. He retired from Manual Woodworkers in Hendersonville, NC and prior to his retirement, he also worked for Milliken & Company. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Living Water Community Church. He enjoyed hobbies of woodworking and restoring his 1984 Corvette. He was the former president of the North Spartanburg Youth Association and vice president of the Boiling Springs Booster Club. He was also a mentor and coach for Boiling Springs and North Spartanburg Ball Players for many years. Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Jean Jackson Arrington; children, Jill Morgan (Brandon) of Inman, SC and Josh Arrington of Spartanburg, SC; Poppa's girls, Meghan Arrington of Boiling Springs, SC and Alexis Arrington of Inman, SC; brother, Carroll Arrington (Ann); sister, Robin Ward of Seneca, SC; mother-in-law, Jean Jackson of Spartanburg, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his little buddy, Clancy. Visitation will be 10:00-11:45 AM Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joey Mills and the Rev. Frank Bryant. Burial with military honors will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of his mother-in-law, Jean Jackson.
