Mrs. Theresa Ann McDonough, 72, wife of 49 years to Francis McDonough, of 269 Shaman Rd., Roebuck, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at her home. A native of New Jersey, she was born February 12, 1942, the daughter of the late William Conrad and Frances Reicke Steeg. A strong pro-life supporter, she was very active in the community. She was a co-founder of the Birthright chapter in Frederick, MD. She was a well read and intelligent woman and will be remembered for the love she had for friends and family. Mrs. McDonough was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Spartanburg. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Dea McDonough; grandsons, Derek Nance and his wife Donna of Sykesville, MD, William, Daniel, David, Michael, and Bryan McDonough of Roebuck, SC; great-granddaughters, Kali and Autumn Nance of Sykesville, MD; and sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Hal Edward Schneider of New Jersey. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, with the Rosary prayer service beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Theresa A. McDonough will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Historic St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan and the Rev. Mr. Robert L. Mahaffey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
