Theodore "Ted" Wright, 83, of Eden Terrace, formerly of Webber Way, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 16, 1926, in Peru, NY, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Morris Wright and the husband of the late Katherine Lillian Lee Wright. He was a retired New York State prison guard, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and of the Catholic faith. He was Commander of the American Legion, and a member of the VFW, New York Elks Club, and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy W. Humar and her husband Dr. Thomas B. Humar of Inman; a son, David Brian Wright of Manchester, NH; a grandson, Adam Thomas Humar of Atlanta, GA; a granddaughter, Alison Lee Humar of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Pauline Gildersleeve of Mattituck, Long Island, NY; and two brothers, Roger Wright and Richard Wright, both of Peru, NY. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A memorial service will also be held in Peru, NY, in early August.
