Thelma Hill Thomason, 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, January 5, 2014. Born January 18, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clody Brasco and Docia Hill, and widow of Harold Lee Thomason. Mrs. Thomason was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church, the Women's Bible Class, and the Golden Circle. She was a graduate of Cecil's Business College and retired from the Department of Social Services. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Thomason Cogdell of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Carrie Cogdell of Spartanburg; nephew Michael Friday, his wife Karen, and their three daughters, Katie, Amanda, and Rebecca, of Boiling Springs, SC; brother, C. B. Hill Jr. and his wife Ruthie of Spartanburg; sister, Betty Friday of Spartanburg; nephew, David Friday of Spartanburg; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two brothers, Willy and James Hill. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29303, by the Rev John Cox and the Rev. Rupert Guest. Private burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DCI-Dillon, 155 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
