Thelma Horne

Thelma Louise Rogers Horne, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 4, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 24, 1927, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Bernard Rogers who passed away when she was two years old. She was raised by her mother, the late Lila Snow Rogers Tillinghast, and the only father she knew, the late Joseph Alexander Tillinghast and was the widow of Howard Robert Horne. Mrs. Horne was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a graduate of Cecil's Business College. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Horne Tillotson (Sam) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Tillotson Beavers of St. Johns, FL and Adam Justin Tillotson (Kristin) of Katy, TX; great-granddaughter, Emery Grace Beavers of St. Johns, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Mildred Wachoviak and Mary Tillinghast; and brothers, Hugh B. Rogers, Charles M. Rogers, and John Tillinghast. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Keith Davis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
