Thelma West Gaultney, 89, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 20, 1921, in Greenville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Cora Runion West, and wife of the late Charles William Gaultney. Mrs. Gaultney was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a former teacher in the pre-school department, and a member of Young At Heart. Survivors include her son, Paul E. Gaultney of Spartanburg; daughters, Dorothy Irene (Patrick) Richardson of Ava, MO, Margaret G. Waters and Jeannette G. (Kenneth) Kirby, all of Spartanburg; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and special friends and caregivers, Lorraine McCauley and Robin Jensen. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Gaultney; and brothers, Carmon O. and Frank E. West. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be in Whitney Cemetery.
