Thelma Henderson Dunn, known to everyone as the sweetest and most loving "Ma-Ma" Dunn, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013. Born April 16, 1916 in Tucapau, SC, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Lee Ballenger and Robert Bennett Henderson. She met and married the love of her life, George Leonard Dunn and started a family in the Valley Falls community where she remained her entire life. Ma-Ma Dunn is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, George Leonard Dunn; her daughter Betsy Carol Dunn; her grandson, Zachary Jackson; her brothers, Junior, John, and Clint Henderson; her sisters, Lucille Henderson, Sarah Thompson, and Azzie Knotig. She is survived by her sisters, Ruby Cox, Delores Thomas, Maxine Kennedy, and her brother, Jerry Henderson; by her children, Loretta Dunn, Sandra Revels, Ronnie Dunn, and Linda Beck; her grandchildren, Scott Stevens, Sherry Stevens, Stacy Stevens, Donna Jackson, Shane Beck, and Anthony Beck. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Christopher Stevens, Tyler Stevens, Heather Patterson, Stephen Patterson, Julian Stevens, Cole Jackson, Allie Jackson, Morgan Beck, Emmie Beck, Colton Beck, Daniela Beck, Austin Beck, and Corey Beck. She was very excited to be expecting the birth of her first great great-grandchild, Brantley Stevens. She held a special place in her heart for three men who loved her as their mother: Leon Stevens, Donald Beck, and Kevin Patterson. A Sweetheart with a capital "S", she was absolutely devoted to her family and them to her. How lucky are we to have her grace the earth for 97 years! Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Thursday, August 15, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Valley Falls, 8352 Valley Falls Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Terry C. Martin, the Rev. Ray Mullinax, and the Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
