Tew Blackwood

Tew "Tewie" Hawkins Blackwood, 61, of 111 Hawkins Acres Road, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born October 28, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Dorothy Tew White Hawkins of Spartanburg and the late Clyde William Hawkins. A graduate of Cowpens High School, she was employed with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for more than 30 years and was a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, John Robert Blackwood; two sons, John Robert "Robby" Blackwood, II and wife Sherry of Alabama and Jeffrey William "Jeff" Blackwood and wife Angel of Inman; a daughter, Sondra Tew "Sandy" Green and her fiancée Shawn Long of Spartanburg; a sister, Luanne Bridges and husband Jerry of Spartanburg; and grandchildren, Ashley Loftis, Andrew Green, Aidan Long, Christian Chavis, J. T., Adanna, Graham, Charity, and Isaiah Blackwood. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jones Brewer. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
