Tess Hayes

Tess Elaine Crowe Hayes, 68, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Tess loved life, had a kind, gentle spirit, and also had a love of decorating. She adored her family and they adored her. She was a loving example of kindness and generosity. She would go out of her way to help a stranger and always had a word of loving advice for those in need. She made ordinary life events extraordinary with her spirit of celebration. She was employed at Hoechst Celenese for 30 years. She was the beloved wife of Tom Hayes; mother of Corey (Nikki) and Ashley (Jane) Brown, Tara Hayes (Chris Cogdill), and Stephanie Hovis (Pryor); stepdaughter of Kelly Clary (Gwen); nine grandchildren, Hayley, Owen, Carter, and Max Brown, Christian Wood, Hayes High, Reece and Garrett Davis, and Caroline Cogdill; and nephews, Ty, Brandon, and Daniel Crowe. She was predeceased by her father, Walter Crowe; mother, Willie Clary; and her brother, Rodney Crowe. A celebration of Tess's life will be held 5:00-7:30 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Spartanburg Marriott, 299 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
