"Teena" Mccarter

Lena "Teena" Sue McCarter Richards, 67, of Spartanburg, died Monday, August 29, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 5, 1944, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Maggie Jane Moore McCarter, and wife of the late John H. Richards, Jr. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, John H. Richards III (Robbie) of Sylvania, OH; daughters, Lori Richards Howell (Richard) and Sissy Richards Smith (Ricky), all of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Adam and Emily Smith, Walker and Alex Howell, and Bradford and Sabra Richards; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Leigh Smith; a brother, Jerry McCarter of Boiling Springs; and a sister, Nancy McCarter Parker of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean McCarter; and a brother, Donald McCarter. Visitation will be 2:00-3:30 PM Friday, September 2, 2011, in Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis and the Rev. Dr. Walter Grady, DO. The family is at the home of Lori and Richard Howell, 102 Leisure Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
