Teddy Milton Phelps, Jr., 43, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 15, 1978 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Teddy Milton and Elizabeth Anne Higginbotham Phelps.
A US Army veteran, he was employed by Waldrop, Inc. for 18 years.
TJ was a Christian who was always ready to meet his maker. He loved and was devoted to his entire family; he had a strong work ethic, a selfless man with a huge heart. He was the comedian of the family.
TJ loved to fish in posted ponds and was an avid Gamecock fan. He loved his bulldog “Butkus.”
Survivors include his daughter, Jessie Anne Phelps of Spartanburg, SC; his sons, Abrahm Phelps of Spartanburg, SC, Kaleb Phelps and his fiancé, Becca Carter of Spartanburg, SC and Jamal Pearson of Reno, NV; his sisters, Stephanie Phelps of Myrtle Beach, SC and Alisa Phelps (Jock McGaha) of Drayton, SC; his soulmate, Summer Smith of the home and her son, Brody; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins; his former wife, Cory Lambert who was his best friend; and his beloved fur baby “Butkus.”
Graveside Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Tim Hackett and Uncle Eddie. Visitation to follow at the graveside.
