Ted Anthony Shaw, 52, of Cloverdale, CA, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He died unexpectedly in California, where he lived since 1988. Born October 23, 1959, in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of W. A. "Tony" and Flonnie Shaw of Spartanburg, SC. Ted had an entrepreneurial spirit and was part of various business ventures. His current endeavor was with California Wine Gear. He was employed by AAA of California as the Manager of the Petaluma, CA, office where he was loved and respected by his colleagues. He was a member of the Spring Hills Community Church were he organized a children's praise band. He grew up in Spartanburg, SC, where he was active in the youth group of First Baptist Church. He participated in Choir Tour and Kentucky missions. Ted was a graduate of Dorman High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He remained an avid Gamecock fan. Ted's passions were music and gourmet food. His greatest love was for his Lord Jesus and his family. In addition to his parents, survivors include his beloved daughter, Taryn Kyle Shaw of Chicago, IL; sisters, Allison Suits (Brett) and Karen Shuler (Ray); brother, Brad Shaw (Shawna); and eight nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Milestones Church, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk Neely and the Rev. Dave Hopkins. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherds Door Ministries, PO Box 823, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
