Talmadge Luther Brown, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, September 30, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 13, 1935, in McCormick County, SC, he was the son of the late Creight Brown and Polly Singleton. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, life member of the Spartanburg Shrine Club, graduate of Greenwood College of Commerce, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Miriam Davis Brown; a daughter, Susan Simmons (Bill) of Spartanburg, SC; step-granddaughters, Sierra and Samantha Simmons; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Richard Luther "Ricky" Brown; seven brothers; and four sisters. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by Chaplain Alan Leonard. Burial with military rites by VFW Post #9539, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
