Sylvia Ann Jackson Ward, 75, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born December 8, 1936, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Heyward and Georgia M. McCullough Jackson. Mrs. Ward was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church and a graduate of Fairforest High School. She was a secretary for Spartanburg High School District 7 and very active in the Spartanburg Athletic Department assisting coaches on game days in the basketball and football programs. Surviving are her loving husband Donald "Buddy" Eugene Ward; beloved pet, Holly Ann; daughters, Donna W. Wooten and husband Ed of Loris, SC, Linda Johnson and husband Darrell of Roebuck, SC, and Hayley J. Ward Faulkner of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jimmy Johnson (Christy), Christopher Johnson (Haylee), Jeremy Wooten, and Austin Wooten; great-grandchildren, Matthew Campbell and Nicholas Campbell; brother, Buddy Jackson and wife Evelyn of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Patsy Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl Ann Ward; and a sister, Margaret J. Hill. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Scott Linnerud. Eulogists are Mr. Todd Ward and Mr. Buddy Jackson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family is at the home of Linda and Darrell Johnson, 199 Eastbrook Terrace, Roebuck, SC 29376.
