Sylvia Jean Sellers, of Lyman, SC, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. She was the wife of Lanny Sellers and a devoted mother and grandmother. Sylvia was born May 25, 1947, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Toy and Ruth Bell. A member of Covenant Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC, she was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended Rutledge Business School. Sylvia began her career at Elaine Powers, then worked for Spartan Grain, and retired after 28 years from the Legal Department at Michelin Tire in 2006. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Vaughn and his wife Mary; two grandsons, Mark and Matthew; sisters, Judy Cantrell, Vicky Price, and Patsy Bell; brothers, Paul, Toy "Snooky", Donnie, and Ricky Bell. She was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Weir and Debra Nolan. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, October 4, 2013, at Covenant Baptist Church, 200 Evangel Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 680 Nazareth Church Rd., Moore, SC 29369. Pallbearers are John Hall, Jason Hall, Tray Cantrell, Mark Nolan, Ricky Bell Jr., and Zach Childress. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist of Spartanburg Building Fund, 200 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
