Sylvia Parrish

Sylvia Sherbert Parrish, 85, of 408 Abner Road, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at her home. Born February 8, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Francis and Annie Elizabeth Lawson Sherbert and the wife of the late Jack Pierce Parrish. She was retired from Vannerson Opticians. She was a member of Spartanburg Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she was treasurer of the Women's Ministries and a member of the Julia Brice Sunday School Class and the Joyful Believers. Survivors include two sisters, Annie Elizabeth Sherbert Hoke of Rock Hill, and Vivian Sherbert Kelly of Enoree; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Spartanburg Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Peter A. Waid. Burial will be in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Pauline, SC.
