Syble Lawson

Syble Jean Gilbert Lawson, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 5, 2016, at her home. Born September 25, 1939, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Milo Gilbert and Millie Hester Oliver Gilbert. Mrs. Lawson loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church, a retired CNA with Magnolia Manor, and also served as a volunteer with Spartanburg Regional Hospice. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Larry Franklin Lawson; children, Eddie Lawson of Spartanburg, SC, Patty Hughes (Bobby) of Greer, SC, Tony Lawson (Angela) of Greenville, SC, and she was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Levi; grandchildren, Brittany, Ian (Candace), Megan (Patrick), Jordan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Murray and Reagan; sister, Willie Mae Snyder of Chesnee, SC; brother, Max Gilbert (Perrin) of Inman, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and son, she was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Beaumont Baptist Church, by the Rev. Steven McLain and the Rev. Rupert Guest. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
