Syble "Mema" Iness Thompson Durham, 87, of Drayton, SC, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at her home. Born June 1, 1927, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Paul Thompson and Julie Blackwell Thompson Owens, and widow of Samuel Durham. Mrs. Durham was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church and retired from Hardees after 20 years of service. Surviving are her children, Jackie Douglas (Harold) and William Ray Durham (Marsha), all of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren including, Jody Osteen (Brian) and Joe Douglas (Sonia), all of Spartanburg; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ophelia Pruitt and Verdi Littlejohn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Samuel Ray Durham. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard King. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Susan G.
